The Maker: Gebr. Alexander

Gebr. Alexander

Founded in 1782 by Franz Ambros Alexander in Mainz, Germany, Gebr. Alexander is one of the world's oldest family-owned instrument makers — still directed today by the founder's descendants after more than 240 years.

Their guiding philosophy, "Tradition and Progress," is more than a motto. It reflects a deep commitment to centuries of craft, continuously refined through close collaboration with the world's leading professional performers and informed by the latest acoustic science. The result is an instrument trusted by premier orchestras, conservatoires, and professional musicians across the globe.
